TEJITA’S BEACH – El Médano
Well known for being at the foot of Montaña Roja is also very well known for being the beach for surfers and those who use Kite Surf. The latter is a colorful wing version of traditional surf, a large wing swelled by the wind that drags surfers at amazing speeds allowing spectacular changes on the water surface
Rather distant from urban centers it is one of the most crude but most natural beaches on the island being mostly frequented by “sporting” wave athletes. Absolutely not to be missed !!! You will not find great restaurants but the well-known Chiringuito Pirata (chiringuito = beach bar) that offers home-made dishes like salmon lasagna and a fair amount of beers and cocktails at an honest price.
