On the road from the South of Tenerife to the Teide National Park, there is a small village of a few souls called Vilaflor where peace and quiet reign. You may have passed by and admired the pots of colourful flowers lining the pavements in some parts of the old town, or the small garden in the square, but few people are familiar with the small pastry shop Dulcería Hermano Pedro, an ideal refuge for a breakfast, a coffee break or a tasty snack.
Don’t be fooled by appearances, as small as this pastry shop is, it offers a wide range of sweets and cakes to choose from, and trust us it will be hard to do! We recommend the walnut or blueberry one, served with a good cortado (coffee with milk). Don’t miss out on this little spot, you will be pleasantly surprised, and while you’re at it, visit the nearby Pino Gordo for a little cultural stopover!
Practical tip: bring something to cover yourself with, especially during the winter months, as it tends to be cooler in Vilaflor than in other parts of Tenerife due to the altitude.
