Public transport in Tenerife
In this beautiful island you can use various vehicle to reach your destination, but if you want to fully enjoy the holiday, without thinking about where to park (especially where there are specific times) or you want to save some money, Tenerife Surprise recommends public transport in Tenerife.
Used by many tourists and as many residents, public transport in Tenerife is the most economical alternative to move in peace.
The canaries use the term “guagua” to name what the bus is, remember this word to ask where to find the nearest stations to where you are, and is managed by a company called Titsa, you can identify buses by their color green. The convenience is that you can pay directly to the driver and the price is based on the route, otherwise you can also buy a subscription called Bono-Bus that will save you the prices of individual tickets (for example to go from Playa de Las Americas to Puerto de la Cruz, the ticket price is 9 euros, with the subscription is around 6 euros).
La Guagua can be found all over Tenerife, from North to South, while only in the North we find Tranvia, the tram to understand us, which has two lines in service in the metropolitan area of the island that circulate between the cities of Santa Cruz and La Laguna. The main Line 1, of 12.5 km and with 21 stops, connected with another transversal line 2 of 3.6 km, with 6 stops, two of which of transshipment between the two lines. La Tranvía de Tenerife has the Universal Accessibility Certification AENOR UNE 170001 in all its services, with which they offer a means of transport that does not discriminate anyone because it is highly efficient and accessible to ALL customers.
Regarding the prices of tram tickets, we start from one euro and 35 cents for a trip, but there is a range adapted to the needs of its customers, including those economic, ranging from the monthly subscription for young people, to that of university student, the elderly and so on.
