Many people are familiar with the small village of Masca, perched on a steep valley that offers an impressive view of the Barranco del Infierno, but few know the best place to observe this breathtaking view.
Hidden among the hovels above the most touristy part of Masca, you will find an eccentric-looking restaurant, Casa Riquelme, whose terrace overlooks the valley that descends from the village towards the ocean. The décor looks like something out of a Tim Burton film, as most of the furniture is made from recycled furniture and materials, but if you can turn a blind eye to the spartan ambience, you will be rewarded with an unforgettable view, even more beautiful than the belvedere further down the valley.
To get to Casa Riquelme, you will have to follow the path that climbs from the centre of the village towards the houses. We recommend a lunch break with cheap beer and local food if you pass through Masca, for an even better view of the village valley.
Practical tip: you tend to have to order food in order to sit down, they usually do not accept that you only order drinks.
