GOLF DEL SUR
GOLF DEL SUR, designed by Pepe Gancedo in 1987 and then renovated in 2005 by Manuel Piñero (Links and North Course), was the first Tenerife golf facility to have as many as 3 competition fields offering “rounds” among the most interesting, where the attention to the game is often second to the beautiful natural environment in which they wind, from the black volcanic sand bunker to the huge and endless greens that are lost on the horizon and the wide fairways.
Surrounded by a huge and splendid variety of local flora this 800,000 m2 plot represents a real oasis in the Atlantic Ocean; palm trees and giant cacti are the setting for the playgrounds and they are given a very special attention, as the conservation of flora and fauna is crucial for the appreciation of these dream locations. Golf del Sur holds the certification from TÜV, based on the ISO 14001 standard of “Ambiente e GOLF DEL BIOSFERE”,
a wealth of natural features that attract the most demanding and refined golfer.
Each of the three routes offers its insidious peculiarities. In the North Course, the most attractive hole is HOLE 3, runs along the “San Blas gorge” and has the peak of the Teide as a monumental natural background, HOLE 5 of the Link Course (Medium Route) which is a par 4 and has a high position that gives the player a fantastic view of the field and the sea, a fantastic encounter between green and blue. And in the South Course, HOLE 2, par 3, is a favorite, is affectionately called “fried egg”, nickname due to the volcanic sand that surrounds it.
Golf del Sur also hosts the facilities of Golf Academy, driving range, tennis courts, minigolf, bar and restaurant, buggy bar, putting y chipping green, pro-shop and changing rooms.
