The village of Los Abrigos can be reached from El Médano along the TF 643, a particular road that crosses the small Sahara desert area that offers at times only the presence of bananas, a small farm where they rent horses for local trips, a mega camper now buried that has seen better times.
The town served by taxi and bus (guagua) Titsa, Tinerfeña transport company, is a mix of residential housing area and winter tourist area Playas de La Tejita, Montaña Roja, El Confital, La Mareta and Senderos de Montaña Roja, Llano de Roja Playa Chica and El Tapado are the major natural attractions of the area of Los Abrigos where, however, the picturesque and colorful Puerto pesquero is the king.
On Tuesday evening, at 5pm, a colorful little market invites you to the main shopping square.
Los Abrigos is a small village on the coast just a few minutes from Tenerife South airport; nevertheless, in the last few years it has experienced urban development of a certain size.
It is easily reachable thanks to a good road network; turns out to be more handy for those staying in the large urbanizations of El Medano, Golf del Sur and Amarilla Golf.
The most important anniversary is June 13th, San Antonio da Padova, Patron of the town and of the Municipality of Granadilla de Abona; inevitable the pilgrimage that ends with a big night party in the main square.
