Have any of you ever heard of a small town called Bajamar? It is a coastal city and, together with Valle Guerra, Tejina and Punta del Hidalgo, constitute a small region.
It is located in the municipality of San Cristobal de la Laguna and has three natural pools, two for adults and one for children with showers and changing rooms.
Water enters the pools through a trapdoor that filters algae, which is why it is so transparent and at the same time healthy. The two adult pools range from 1.50 to 1.80 meters.
Bathing here is fabulous and quite hypnotic because it’s like taking a bath in the sea but protected by rocks, by the way it’s really spectacular to see the waves crashing on them.
In the first pool the waves arrive very quiet, but it is always advisable to be careful and, in order not to slip, it would be useful to use slippers.
Near the pier there is a small black sand beach and a long promenade where you can also see a lighthouse still in use and black stone houses, all accessible even for people with physical disabilities.
You can also make a stop at one of the local restaurants / bars where you can taste the local delicacies. Ideal place for the whole family.
Parking is also easy and you can swim in peace because the lifeguards will be there to monitor you.
If you find bad weather, you can also head to nearby La Laguna, whose historic center has been declared a World Heritage Site.
From August 7th to 25th, if you happen to be around here and you like folk festivals, you can’t miss the celebrations for the almighty God of Bajamar, where dancers and musicians will perform.
A visit don’t be missed! We are going to see there…
