Los Abrigos is a small seaside town in the South of Tenerife. Its name literally means ‘the coats’, a name probably due to the temperatures that tend to be cooler than in other areas in the south of the island. Its small harbour is lined with a row of small restaurants, mainly fish restaurants, with a familiar and cosy atmosphere. Unlike the big tourist centres, in fact, Los Abrigos has maintained a relaxed atmosphere, characteristic of the Canary Islands, and is therefore perfect for a romantic dinner with an ocean view.
Among the restaurants with an ocean view, you will find La Cueva de Los Abrigos, a fish restaurant with a very atmospheric setting: it feels like being inside a real cave! Alternatively, we recommend El Mirador de Los Abrigos, another seafood restaurant with a wonderful balcony overlooking the sea for a romantic dinner.
Before or after dinner, don’t miss the opportunity to take a walk on the wooden footbridge from Los Abrigos to San Blas, which is especially enchanting at sunset! If you are curious to find out more about the local cuisine, we recommend you don’t miss this article on local cuisine and typical Canarian desserts so you arrive prepared for your dinner in Los Abrigos.
